Talmon Biran Architecture Studio, Woodpile project.

About their studio :

“We are a young, curious and creative architecture studio based in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Our studio, which was established in 2007, has experience working with private, public and commercial clients. Our projects vary from interior design to buildings design, urban planning and landscape design.
We seek to create buildings which are suited to the environment, climate and landscape in which they are located, but first and foremost to our costumers wills and needs, their lifestyle, preferences and budget.
Our architectural doing goes hand in hand with our personal artistic creation in various fields, such as visual arts, photography, installations, dance and video.”

WOODPILE

Winning Entry,
Warming Huts, an art + architecture competition on ice
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, 2011

Spatial metal frame walls stacked with firewood and a fire pit in the middle provide a sheltered space for skaters, skiers and strollers along the Assiniboine River skating trail. As more firewood is being used, the appearance and spatial qualities change, thus reflecting the role of time and the huts users in its design.
